- searches in respect of patent documentation, thematic searches;

- preparation and execution of documents necessary for filing the application for issuance of a patent or a short-term patent for invention;

- preparation and recordation of the assignments in respect of patents for inventions, license agreements and other relevant law documents;

- overall tracking of the procedural deadlines;

- administrative and judicial protection of the interests of the holders of the intellectual property objects.

1. Requirements for the application in respect of the patents for invention or short-term patents for invention, including the necessary documents.

Information and documents which are necessary by the time of filing of the application:

a) the applicant’s and inventor(s)’ full name, domicile and address;

b) the description of the invention, one or several claims, drawings, whereto the references in the description have been made;

c) the abstract ;

d) the document confirming the deposition of the biological material, in case if the invention refers to reproduced biological material;

Information and documents that must be filed within two months following  the filing date of the application with the Patent Office:

3. The procedure.

The formal examination – 1 month following the filing date of the application.

The preliminary Examination – 3 months following theend of the formal examination.

*In respect of the short-term patent for invention there are conducted formal and preliminary Examinations - within 6 months following the filing date of the application and thereafter the Decision of grant of the short-term patent for invention is issued;  

The publication of the application – 18 months following its filing date or, in case if priority has been claimed, following the date of claiming priority.  

* The application for the short-term patent is published simultaneously with the publication of the decision of patent grant.  

The substantive examination is conducted upon the applicant’s request, which is filed before the expiration of 30 months following the filing date of the application and is carried out within 18 months following the filing date of the request, excluding the period for correspondence, and thereafter the Decision of grant in respect of the patent for invention is issued.  

The publication of the Decision of grant– 3 months following the date of sending the Decision of grant to the applicant.

Issuance of the patent for invention – 1 month following the expiration of 6 months from the publication of the decision of patent grant, provided official fee payment for the registration of patent and annuities for maintaining the patent for all years, including the year of issuance.
